Abstracts for ECG Congress 2023

ECG Congress 2023 invites abstract submissions relating to The role of oral health in successful ageing. The presentation formats available are Poster presentation.Abstracts are excepted from both ECG and non-ECG members. Posters accepted are expected to present in person in Stockholm.

Deadline

Abstracts to be considered for ECG Congress 2023 must be submitted by the May 26 th, 2023.

All presentations are in person at the conference. If your abstract is accepted, you need to register before the 15th of August 2023. If you have not registered before this date, the abstract will be recalled.
All abstracts must be submitted via the abstract form linked below.

INFORMATION

Abstract is max 300 words. (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion)
Abstracts must report on original research. Previously published abstracts (in print or electronically) or those presented at another meeting are not allowed.
Individuals may present only one abstract. Individuals can co-author multiple abstracts. You must receive the approval of all co-authors before putting their names on the abstract. Presenters will receive a ‘certificate of attendance’.
Presenters must disclose any potential personal or co-author conflict of interest and financial relationships with companies, to the best knowledge of the presenter.
If a presenter wants to update their abstract - fill out the form re-submission and the first abstract will be removed. Typographical or grammatical errors that appear in your abstract submission will also appear in the final online Scientific Program.
You may withdraw your abstract at any time before May 26 th, 2023, using the abstract form – Withdrawal of abstract. Follow the instructions in the form.
The official acceptance/rejection notifications will be emailed on or around June 21st, 2023 to all abstract submitters. A second notification will include presentation (oral or poster), date, and session time. This notification will be sent after the registration deadline August 15th, 2023 to all registered and accepted presenters.
All communication will take place via email to the presenting author.
Presentations will be selected based on the scientific quality judged from the abstract. An impartial panel of reviewers will evaluate the content of each abstract, whose decision is final.

If you register for the Hybrid / Digital participation you also have the opportunity to send in an abstract for a poster. Hybrid / Digital participants use the same abstract submission form as in-person participants. More information about presentation format will be sent out to accepted posters after the review process.

Abstract submission for the conference and for the ECG research Award are two separate submissions. You are welcome to apply to ECG Congress poster presentation and ECG Research Award 2023 simultaneously.

ECG Research Award 2023

The European College of Gerodontology (ECG) Research Award aims to foster and honour research in the field of Gerodontology.
The prize of 5000€ will be offered to the winner during the 2023 Annual Congress of the European College of Gerodontology.

The Awards Committee will be nominated by the ECG Council. This will consist of three colleagues from different countries who are members of the European College of Gerodontology.

The principal author must be a member of the ECG of good standing. Membership is not restricted to Europe and Membership Application Forms can be downloaded from the ECG website and should be submitted to Prof. Anastassia Kossioni (akossion@dent.uoa.gr) and Prof. Martin Schimmel (martin.schimmel@zmk.unibe.ch).

The work shall be original and must not have been published nor presented prior to submission for this. It should be submitted as a 1000 word maximum abstract to Prof. Anastassia Kossioni (akossion@dent.uoa.gr). The submission shall indicate that the study is competing for the prize and must also fulfil the requirements defined by ECG for all abstract submissions to the annual programme.

The ECG Board will select the best three submissions to compete for the award during the Annual Congress. If selected for the award competition, a short presentation shall be prepared for the Annual Conference of the ECG for oral delivery. Evaluation for the award competition will be based on the submitted abstracts (65%) and the presentation of the work during the congress (35%). The remainder maximum ten submissions might be presented as posters during the annual congress.
